Soils

In front of the Château, an area of 13 hectares with a limestone subsoil, outcrops of clay and sandy top soil. The soils are chalky, rich in organic matter and well drained. A natural vegetal cover is maintained between the rows with regular mowing. The rows under the shoots are ploughed.

The other part of the vineyard in the Haut Médoc appellation, closer to the river, consists of soils of quaternary gravel, which tend to be particularly dry with a low content of organic matter and a certain acidity.
In these gravely soils, the space between the rows is planted with cereals or legumes which help to structure the soil and make up for the shortage of organic matter.
The rows under the shoots are regularly ploughed and the inter-row grassing is destroyed in cases of drought. The soils and sub-soils of the vines in the Margaux appellation consist of quaternary and tertiary gravel.
Tillage is performed throughout the vegetative period with ploughing tools.

Climate
The second characteristic of the terroir is its temperate, humid, ocean climate which generally contributes to a suitably progressive ripening of the grape varieties of the region.

Grape varieties
Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet-Sauvignon

Petit Verdot

37% Cabernet Sauvignon
12% Cabernet Franc
