Château Meyre, situated in the heart of the Médoc and of the regions of Moulis and Margaux, has been growing vines for over three hundred years.

In 1876, the estate was listed among the very finest Avensan wines and the 1932 classification ranked it as a Cru Bourgeois, a classification that was confirmed in 2003.

The property has a total of 17 hectares around the town of Avensan, 30 km to the north of Bordeaux. In 1992, the vineyard was extended by the acquisition of 2 hectares in the commune of Soussans in the Margaux appellation See map of the vineyard


Organic growing

The property undertook a conversion to organic growing in 2008. The first vintage certified as organic will be produced in 2011.
Château Meyre also opens the doors of its hotel, « Le Clos de Meyre » from March to November to enable you to discover all the pleasures of wine tasting in an elegant country setting.
